MARKING SYSTEM AND INK
The “best before” expiry date and lot code is printed directly on the plastic, high barrier IB-PET (polyethylene terephthalate) lid of the mac and cheese flexible packaging container with the Redimark TC12 thermal inkjet date coder using T602K ink.
The T602K ink, with a 2-5 second dry time, prints on most plastics including flexible packaging. With a semi-porous to non-porous surface, and made of easily yielding materials such as film, foil, plastic, or paper sheeting, flexible packaging comes in a variety of packaging types like bags, envelopes, pouches, sachets, and wraps.
The T602K ink also has a decap time/print idle time of up to 20 hours, reducing the chance of the solvent drying out and ink becoming unusable if stored or left out on the line uncapped.

The T602K ink comes in an easy to insert and change-out XL cartridge, with 40% more ink than the starter-sized, short-run ink cartridge that comes free with all Redimark marking and coding machines, including the TC12.

The Redimark TC12 thermal inkjet printer – for date, lot, and batch coding – works best on mostly flat surfaces with well-defined edges like folding cartons or paperboard boxes. The TC12 allows you to get the code exactly where you need it with an easy-to-adjust print head and specialized print features, including the ability to flip the code upside down and start printing from a set distance from the detected edge.
